Castaway Cannabis is a recreational use only dispensary in the state of New Jersey. In New Jersey, a medical cannabis patient requires a process to obtain their medical cannabis card provided they have a qualifying medical condition. They are allotted different amounts of cannabis which are tracked using a seed-to-sale system. A recreational cannabis user does not require a medical card and must be over the age of 21 with a valid ID to purchase. They are allowed to purchase 1oz of cannabis per day. While these are two different ways of obtaining cannabis, the products sold in our dispensary are the same as what is sold in a medical dispensary.
The THC/CBD sold in medical and recreational stores licensed by the New Jersey Cannabis Regulatory Commission is produced from cannabis plants while the THC/CBD sold in convenience stores and smoke shops is derived from hemp plants. Hemp is federally legal in all 50 states while cannabis is legalized state by state. While they may seem similar, they are vastly different and by federal law, products created from hemp must be less than .3% THC. Products found on our shelves typically carry a THC value greater than 15%.
While it may seem overwhelming, our Castaway Cannabis Crew Members are here to guide you through the entire process. All you have to do is show up at our front door with a valid government-issued ID and a method of payment such as cash or debit, and we will ensure you leave with everything you need to consume safely. In addition, we have take-home educational materials for all products purchased at our dispensary.
